The Eight Auspicious Symbols

Running along the body of the burner, eight repoussé medallions depict the Ashtamangala, the Eight Auspicious Symbols of Tibetan Buddhism: the Parasol, the Golden Fish, the Treasure Vase, the Lotus, the Conch Shell, the Endless Knot, the Victory Banner, and the Dharma Wheel. Together they represent the complete path to enlightenment and are among the most sacred symbols in the Vajrayana tradition.

Craftsmanship and Detail

• Cylindrical body with full filigree lid in an intricate floral lattice pattern
• Stupa and deer finials crowning the lid, symbols of the dharma and the first teaching of the Buddha
• Lotus medallion end caps on both sides
• Greek key border detailing along the upper and lower edges
